Q:  What kind of program is CPDS?

A: Conflict, Peace and Development Studies (CPDS) is a two-year / four-semester multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary MA program designed by Tribhuvan University, Nepal with an academic collaboration with other partner institutions.

Q: Which Institution awards the degree of MA in Conflict, Peace and Development Studies?

A: Respective partner institution awards the degree of MA in Conflict, Peace and Development Studies.

Q: Who are the partners of the program?

A: The program is a collaboration between University of Life Sciences, Aas, Norway; University of Ruhuna, Matara, Sri Lanka; COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Abbottabad, Pakistan; and Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal.

Q: When is new admission open announced?

A: Generally, admission notice is announced annually during May-June by respective partner institution.

Q: What is the total number of seats allocated?

A: The total number of seats allocated is 50 for Tribhuvan University.

Q: What is the time schedule of classes?

A: Classes run everyday from 4pm to 8pm except on Saturdays and public holidays at Tribhuvan University.

Q: Who are eligible to apply for the program?

A: The candidate must possess the following eligible criteria to apply for the program.

1. A Bachelor Degree in any faculty / discipline with second division marks or equivalent from Tribhuvan University or the university recognized by Tribhuvan University.

2. Proficiency in written and spoken English.

3. Related work, research, and publication experience is given priority.

4. Computer literate

Moreover, women, dalits, janajatis, other marginalised are encouraged to apply for the program.

Q: What is the total cost of the program?

A: In case of Tribhuvan University, the total tuition fees cost NRs 1,26,000.00 for Nepali students. NRs 35,500.00 must be paid at the time of admission and remaining NRs 90,500.00 is payble in the second, third and fourth semesters. NRs 1000.00 charged for entrance examination and NRs 825 is charged in each semester as examination fee.

For the students of other SAARC countries: NRs 1,57,250.00 for the whole program.

For the students except SAARC countries: NRs 1,88,500.00 for the whole program.

Q: Are there any scholarships available?

A: There are ample opportunities to the competent students in the field of mini research, internship, field research and thesis writing.
